Portland and Binh Duong Exchange Visits

In early 2016, a delegation from Binh Duong province in Vietnam led by Becamex Deputy CEO Pham Ngoc Thuan has yearly visited Portland, Oregon to promote economic, educational and cultural cooperation.  The delegation gave a briefing on province and Vietnam updates in conjunction with the Portland Business Alliance(PBA  - www.portlandalliance.com ), the largest business promotion organization in Oregon.   At this briefing, the Portland Alliance advised Mr. Thuan that the PBA was planning to send a large delegation to visit Vietnam in November 2016 and hoped to visit Binh Duong and Becamex.  Mr. Thuan informed the PBA that Becamex and the province would welcome a visit and  promised to provide transportation from Ho Chi Minh City and host a meeting in Binh Duang and a lunch for the PBA delegation.

In November, 2016 the delegation visited Vietnam both North and South with assistance from Runckel & Associates and Becamex.  The delegation was led by Metro Chief Executive, Tom Hughes, Beaverton Mayor Denny Doyle and  Commissioner Multnomah County, Loretta Smith.  The group were welcomed to the province by the Head of the People’s Committee, visited the Binh Duong New City and exchange ideas on city and economic development with province and city managers and with senior management of Becamex.  Becamex has promised to support future visits of Oregon and Portland delegations to Vietnam and to continue yearly exchanges of visit with the city, region and state.
